MOUNT AIRY, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati police are investigating reports two to three male suspects fired several rounds at two vehicles carrying young children and teenagers overnight.

A 16-year-old boy suffered a cut to his head from shattered glass of a broken windshield, according to police.

The incident was reported in the 5300 block of Bahama Terrace about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicles were in the neighborhood while an 18-year-old girl with the group searched for a female who is now dating the 17-year-old father of her children, according to police.

The 18-year-old tried to contact the female earlier in the night at her place on employment. Then, she gathered her young children, a few friends with their small children and decided to go to Bahama Terrace to confront the female, according to police.

The group was so large, it took a two-vehicle caravan to carry them all.

The vehicles drove through the parking lot, but they did not spot the female, police said.

The two-vehicle caravan began to exit the lot.

Then, two to three male suspects fired seven to 10 rifle rounds on the caravan, according to police.

Two rounds struck one of the vehicles, shattering the windshield glass that cut the 16-year-old.
