Middletown Police track down 'armed and dangerous' suspect

(Middletown Police Department) (Middletown Police Department)

Police have located a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting incident on the east end of town Wednesday morning.

Authorities tracked down Adam Gayhart several hours after asking the public for information on his whereabouts.

Gayhart was wanted on four felonious assault warrants.

According to the criminal complaint, Gayhart was parked outside of Reflections Bar on Elliott Dr. as his ex-girlfriend was leaving.

She said she got into a car with three other people and left, but Gayhart started following their vehicle.

Gunfire was reportedly exchanged between the two vehicles as they traveled along Roosevelt/Breiel to Grand/Marshall.

Court documents state that at least one of the bullets fired by Gayhart went through the back window and exited out the front window of the other vehicle.

The victims stated they ran multiple red lights and eventually lost Gayhart.

No one was hurt.

Gayhart has also been charged with intimidation of a witness.
