SOUTH FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) -

Fire investigators are trying to identify the cause of a vacant house fire in the 1900 block of State Avenue early Monday.

Fire officials tell FOX 19 NOW flames broke out in the basement of the vacant home around 1:30 a.m. and quickly spread throughout the
entire building.

Fire crews immediately attacked the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to other houses and the nearby wooded areas.

They brought it under control in about 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Damage was set at $30,000, fire officials said in a prepared statement.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. It's not clear yet if it's suspicious, fire officials said.

Investigators also are looking into whether the home was occupied before the fire broke out.
