Accused cop impersonator arrested in Dearborn County

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN (FOX19) -

An Ohio fugitive has been captured in Indiana. 

James Eagle, 23, was arrested by deputies in Dearborn County, Indiana. 

He was wanted by Hamilton County authorities on outstanding warrants.

Investigators said he was facing mostly traffic-related misdemeanor charges, when he called authorities impersonating a judge and a detective.

Neither scheme was successful, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Felony warrants for aiding escape or resistance to authority, forgery and impersonation of a peace officer were then issued.

Eagle was arrested at a home in Dearborn County without incident.

He waived extradition and is being transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
