Police: Mom drugged 12-year-old son while smoking crack

A mother accused of drugging her 12-year-old son while she smoked crack is set to face a judge Friday.

Kimberly Bloomer will appear in Hamilton County Municipal Court at 9 a.m.

She was arrested about 4 a.m. Thursday and charged with endangering children and contributing to juvenile unruliness.

Cincinnati police wrote in a incident report she gave her son a drug she believed to be Xanax about 8 p.m. Wednesday, creating "a substantial risk" to his health.

She also admitted to smoking crack while caring for her son, an affidavit states, and officers found drug paraphernalia used to smoke crack.

Her son, according to the report, had "noticeable impairment" and "arms and legs jerking uncontrollably."

The 12-year-old told police he hadn't slept in three days, according to the incident report.

"When he attempted to walk he was unable to maintain his balance… and his words were noticeably slurred," police wrote.

The boy was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
