(WHITE HOUSE, June 26, 2005) -- President Bush will be meeting with the families of some U-S troops killed in Iraq or Afghanistan ahead of his address on Iraq this evening.
The White House says Bush will meet with the families of 33 troops.
He'll then make his address before as many as 700 soldiers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Bush is trying to ease Americans' growing doubts about the Iraq mission and the violence that has claimed the lives of more than 17-hundred U-S troops.
But war opponents plan to protest outside the base. A spokesman for the United for Peace and Justice anti-war coalition says there's a "groundswell" against the war.
