Infant Dies After Being Left In Tub

Only the grief outweighs the questions the Hensley family has right now.

Late Tuesday morning, Candy Hensley left her 5-month-old son, Brandyn, alone in the bathtub for five minutes while she checked the laundry. She says when she got back, Brandyn had turned over and drowned.

"He was a loveable baby," Christina Hensley, his aunt, says. "He was just so happy. He never cried."

Christina arrived at Candy's Lebanon apartment just after she found the boy. They called 911 and tried to revive him. But it was too late.

"It was like a nightmare," Christina says. "It was like a dream that was a nightmare, because that baby, he was so well loved."

Christina says her entire family wants to know why Candy left Brandyn alone. She says it's a completely irresponsible thing to do. "That's the part I don't understand," she says. "My children are 4 and 6 and I don't leave them alone as big as they are."

Lebanon Police have the same questions. They spent much of Tuesday interviewing several family members, including Candy. As of late Tuesday there were no charges, but police say the investigation continues.
