Mother Pleads Guilty

A Texas woman has pleaded guilty to murder in the strangling and decapitation of her three young children. The deal saves her from execution.

Twenty-five-year-old Angela Camacho received three concurrent life sentences. She'll be eligible for parole in 40 years. Camacho and her common-law husband admitted to killing their two-month-old daughter, one-year-old son and three-year-old daughter in March of 2003. They told police they thought the children were possessed.

Camacho's attorneys failed to prove she was mentally retarded. If she had been convicted at trial, she would have become the first female Mexican national on death row. Her common-law husband has been sentenced to death, but is appealing.
