Britain's prime minister denounces London attacks
British Prime Minister Tony Blair says today's deadly explosions in London were "a series of terrorist attacks."
Blair spoke to reporters at the G-Eight summit he's hosting in Scotland. He said he's leaving the session to go to London, and will return to Scotland this evening.
He says President Bush and leaders of the other G-Eight nations will continue their talks without him. Blair said it's clear the attacks were timed to coincide with the opening of the summit. He said it's "barbaric" that it happened even as the leaders are working to help Africa and improve the environment. Stern and defiant, Blair vowed that terrorists will never succeed in destroying what the civilized world holds dear.
