Fire Burns Through The Night

Fire at plastics plant allowed to burn through the night

Firefighters from Kentucky helped battle a fire at a plastics recycling factory in southeastern Indiana. Firefighters decided to let the fire burn itself out.

The fire began about noon yesterday in Greendale, Indiana, and continued to burn today. Dozens of firefighters from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana battled the blaze yesterday.

Officials finally decided to pull the firefighters out of the six-story brick building that houses Alternative Plastic Services about 20 miles west of Cincinnati.

Officials have not determined what caused the fire, which filled the air with plumes of black smoke.
