VERONA, KY (FOX19) -

A Florence brother and sister were involved in a rollover crash Tuesday that left one of the siblings dead.

Interstate 71 has reopened following a single-vehicle fatal crash in Verona, KY, according to Boone County dispatch.

The interstate closed just south of the I-75 split and KY-14 at around 10:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation reveals a pickup truck lost control on southbound I-71. The truck struck the guardrail on the right side which sent it airborne over the railing and then down an embankment.

As the truck landed the male occupant, identified as 24-year-old Seth McClurg, was ejected from the truck.

The truck continued on down the hill where, at final resting position, the female, 27-year-old Hannah McClurg, was able to get out and climb up the hill to the side of the interstate where officials said she was met by passersby.

Seth was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said.

Hannah was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center in unknown condition.

Air Care took her to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. No word on her condition.

Both sides of the highway was closed down for approximately three hours. It has since reopened.
