Finnegan re-injured in return to mound DJ

File File
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Brandon Finnegan left his first game back from the disabled list with a triceps strain in his pitching arm.

Finnegan has missed most of the season with a shoulder injury. He recently made three rehab starts in the minor leagues after last pitching in the Major Leagues in April.

The Reds activated Finnegan off the 60-day disabled list before Monday’s game, but he winced after a pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning at Busch Stadium and left the game after a visit to the mound by the team’s trainer and Bryan Price.

Finnegan has only made four starts all season.

He won 10 games and posted a 3.98 ERA in his first full season starting for the Reds in 2016.
