ADAMS COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Adams County Sheriffs Office is asking citizens to be on the lookout for fake bills circulating around the area.
The majority of the counterfeit bills are clearly marked "For Motion Picture Use Only" in bold print, but that hasn't stopped some from passing the bills off as genuine.
The bills are $100 denominations, according to the sheriff's office. They may also be marked with a pink Chinese letter.
"These bills look and feel as if they are legitimate bills however they are fake," said the sheriff's office. "We have taken reports of personal items being sold between citizens where this money is being used to intentionally defraud the seller."
If you encounter one of these bills, contact the sheriff's office.
