CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The baby boom continues at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
King penguin Bebe has laid an egg, the zoo announced Monday.
Instead of building nests, the zoo says King penguins stand upright while incubating a single egg on top of their feet in their brood patch.
A brood patch is a featherless patch of skin that contains numerous blood vessels that transfer heat to the egg, zookeepers said.
Incubation is typically 54 days.
FOX19 NOW will keep you posted when the chick hatches.
