HIGHLAND COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A 31-year-old man  under arrest on an aggravated robbery charge is the suspect in a homicide, authorities announced early Wednesday.

Jeffrey Ryan Holsinger of Greenfield is held at the Franklin County jail in Columbus, according to the Highland County Sheriff's Office.

He was taken into custody late Tuesday after a vehicle pursuit, sheriff's officials said.

Hours earlier, the body of Steven Mottie Jr., 35, was found in the bathroom area of a home on Ford Avenue in Greenfield, they said.

Deputies were called to the residence just after 2 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had been robbed and hit in the head with a pistol, according to the sheriff's office.

When they arrived, they spoke with the robbery victim and then found Mottie, who had been shot in the chest, sheriff's officials said in a prepared statement.

So far, Holsinger is just charged the the aggravated robbery, the sheriff said Wednesday.

He is a suspect in the fatal shooting,  the sheriff said.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) from the Ohio Attorney General's Office responded to the home to assist.

Later in the evening, Holsinger was apprehended.

An investigation continues.
