Police Chief: Franklin teen hit, killed in tragic accident

FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) -

One of two teenage girls hit by a car on a Franklin Street Monday night died early Wednesday, authorities said.

Rose Nott, 15, was pronounced dead at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

The teens were hit just before midnight Sunday as they crossed East 2nd Street from the south to the north at Deardoff Road, said Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman in a prepared statement.

The other juvenile was treated at Atrium and released.

"There was no signs of drugs or alcohol. It's just a tragic accident," said Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman. 

The driver of the striking vehicle, a 72-year-old woman, was visibly shaken but not hurt, according to the chief.

No charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation, the chief said.
