Reds rookie pitcher Sal Romano picked up his first MLB win in the Reds 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies Thursday.
Romano pitched five innings, allowing just six hits and earning six strikeouts during his time on the mound. It was the second start for Romano, whose big-league debut was three months ago in a loss to the Brewers.
Adam Duvall hit his 20th home run of the season in the eighth inning with a solo home run to right field. Zack Cozart had a pinch-hit double later in the inning, allowing Scott Schebler to score the final run of the day for the Reds.
The Reds drew a 2-2 series split with the Rockies. They now head to Arizona for a three-game series with the Diamondbacks before the all-star break.
