SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) -

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for the burglary of Peterson’s Gun Shop.

The shop, a federal firearms licensee, is located in the 11000 block of Reading Road in Sharonville.

ATF is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) for a total possible reward of $5,000.

At approximately 3 a.m. on July 2, unknown individuals forcibly gained entry into the building triggering an alarm.

The suspects were captured on video surveillance taking 21 firearms, most of which were handguns, and two knifes.

“Throughout the country there’s a lot of shooting violence going on,” Detective Sgt. Derek Broenner. “Getting these guns out of criminals’ hands is imperative.”

ATF is working with the Sharonville Police Department to investigate the incident.

Anyone with information should contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867), or can call CrimeStoppers at (513) 352-3040.

“It’s hard for us to do our job without tips from the community,” Sgt. Broenner said. "Somebody will talk and any little bit of information you can give us is imperative to help us do our job better.”

All calls will be kept confidential.
