WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Crews have pulled a body from a pond where a car was found submerged Monday.

The coroner was called to the pond near Frontgate Outlet between Union Center Boulevard and West Chester Road around 1 p.m.

Authorities noticed damage to landscaping near the pond when they discovered a vehicle had driven through the property and into the water, according to township spokesperson Barb Wilson.

Crews used sonar equipment to search the water.

Wilson said the vehicle was removed from the pond around 4:30. Authorities recovered the body about a half hour later.

It's not clear if police are searching for other victims.

The coroner's office is expected to release further information about the deceased individual.
