CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Police Department honored a 98-year-old retired police officer Tuesday.

Sgt. Glenn Meyer is the oldest living retired CPD officer and lives down the street from District Three where he was honored.

Meyer served from 1947 to 1973.

He was surrounded by his children and police family as the city proclaimed Tuesday " Sergeant Glenn R. Meyer Day."

Meyer says he wouldn’t mind being back on the force.

“I love to be back again, one thing is we had old pre-war ford coupes. You pulled the park brake on it, it’ll fall off,” said Meyer.

Meyer kept the crowd laughing with old police stories.

He also was given a tour of District Three.
