Ohio State transfer quarterback Torrance Gibson, who had announced his intentions to play at UC and has been working towards playing for the Bearcats this fall, will now attend junior college instead.
Gibson will pursue his academic and football future at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he initially signed to play football after leaving Ohio State last December.
MGCCC announced Gibson’s intent to attend their school in a release on Thursday.
"I just want to win," Gibson said in the release. "I want to learn. It's a chance for a brand new start, to start from the bottom."
If Gibson graduates this December, he would still have two years of Division I eligibility remaining to play for the school he chooses. FOX19 Now’s media partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer are reporting that a return to UC is unlikely.
