MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

A Middletown resident woke up to an unwelcome number of guests dumped in his home Friday morning.

The man filed a police report claiming someone smashed his front window and unleashed a cluster of bed bugs inside his Henry Avenue apartment.

Police responded to the home and found the front window pane covered in bed bugs. According to the police report, the man saw a woman run from his apartment and drive off in a white car after the incident.

The vandal also lit a fire under the man’s car, the report states.

The man declined an interview, but neighbors said they’re upset about the incident and plan to keep a closer watch on the neighborhood.

A woman who lives in the same apartment complex said someone recently threw two bricks through her window.

"I've had to move my couch away from the window. I should have to live like that in my own home. You know, I don't bother nobody,” the woman, who did not want to be identified, said.

Police have not named any suspects, but some neighbors think kids are behind the vandalism.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Middletown Police.
