A missing 4-year-old boy from Delhi Township has been found safe in Greenville, South Carolina, according to Delhi Township Police.

A critical missing alert for Jaeden McClure was issued Wednesday.

Lt. Joe Macaluso said authorities located the boy at a relative's home in Greenville Thursday.  He is now in state custody.

A judge ordered Jaeden turned over to social services after his mother overdosed on drugs June 9, police said. Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services and police showed up to his Pedretti Road home on July 10, but the boy was not there.

Jaeden's parents provided false information about the boy's whereabouts, an affidavit states. His father, Jasper Pickett, told police the child had been in South Carolina for more than a year.

In the missing alert issued Wednesday, police said they could not confirm Jaeden had left the state. They believed he was still in the Tri-State area, but eventually tracked him down in Greenville after interviewing relatives.

The boy's relative in South Carolina cooperated with law enforcement and will not face charges, police said. He had been living with the relative for several weeks and was enrolled in day care, Greenville Police say.

Jaeden's parents reportedly asked the relative to take the child.

Greenville South Carolina Children Protective Services currently has custody of the boy. He will eventually be put into the protective custody of Hamilton County officials, Macaluso said.

Parents Jasper Pickett and Misty McClure are both charged with interference of custody.
