SOUTH FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) -

A driver suffered critical injuries after a single-vehicle South Fairmount crash early Saturday.

Police responded to the crash in the 2100 block of Queen City Avenue at approximately 5:36 a.m.

Authorities say 53-year-old David Wilson was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer west on Queen City Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. He was the only occupant of the car.

Wilson was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Excessive speed appears to be a factor in this crash.

Impairment is unknown at this time, police said.

Wilson was wearing a seat belt.

Any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
