A suspect injured a Cincinnati Police officer while trying to escape custody Monday.
The District 4 Officer was transporting George Waters, 31, to the Hamilton County Jail on an outstanding abduction warrant. She noticed the suspect “acting in a suspicious manner” and stopped the vehicle to investigate, Cincinnati Police said.
Waters tried to flee after the officer opened the rear door of the vehicle.
Police said the officer sprained her wrist while stopping his escape attempt. She was treated for her injuries.
Waters has been charged with Escape, Robbery, Resisting Arrest. He was already facing an abduction charge from an incident on Monday.
Court documents show Waters pulled a woman from her vehicle while she was stopped at a red light. He forced her into his car, took her to his home and held her against her will, a complaint alleges.
