CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Two arrests have been made in the homicide investigation into a Northside stabbing, but only one of the suspects is facing murder charges.
Alisha Hawkins, 36, told police she was the one who killed Michael Brooks Monday, according to a police report. Police found Brooks, 37, with a fatal stab wound to the neck and took Hawkins, his neighbor, into custody.
Cincinnati Police would later discover Hawkins lied about committing the crime, gave police false information, encouraged a witness to lie and hid the identity of the assailant, a police report shows.
A Fugitive Apprehension Unit took Terry Jones into custody in Dayton, KY on Tuesday morning. Jones is currently in the Campbell County Jail and is facing one count of murder.
Jones stabbed Brooks during a fight in the 4500 block of Colerain Avenue about 11:30 a.m. Monday, police said.
The relationship between Hawkins and Jones is unclear. A 2016 photo showing Hawkins and Jones embracing was posted to a Facebook page that appears to belong to Hawkins.
Hawkins is facing a third-degree felony charge of Obstruction of Justice.
If convicted, Jones could face between 9-months and 5-years in prison.
