ISP investigating inmate death at Madison County Jail

MADISON, IN (FOX19) -

Indiana State Police are now investigating the death of Madison County Jail inmate Loretta Neese after she was found unresponsive in a holding cell Wednesday morning.

Neese, 56, of Alexandria, was found at 6:40 a.m. while the jail staff was serving breakfast. She was then taken by emergency medical staff to St. Vincent’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The exact cause of death will be unknown until autopsy and toxicology reports are completed.

Neese was arrested Tuesday morning charged with operating a vehicle while being suspended, possession of a legend drug, and driving without a license.
