Four indicted on homicide charges in fentanyl overdose death

BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A Brown County grand jury indicted four individuals in connection with a fentanyl drug overdose death on Thursday. 

All are charged in connection with the death of Andrew Chapman, of Mount Orab, OH, who died of a fentanyl overdose on Feb. 25, 2017.  

“Every single drug overdose death is a tragedy.  We will continue to aggressively pursue those that choose to sell these deadly drugs and hold them accountable for causing death,” stated Brown County Prosecutor Zac Corbin in a news release.

Justin Taylor, 33, and Amanda Fields, 36, are being charged with involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, reckless homicide, trafficking in heroin, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and tampering with evidence. 

Gwen Smith, 47, and Michael Smith, 48, are being charged with reckless homicide and tampering with evidence. 

All four individuals have warrants for their arrests and have not been apprehended.
