Butler Co resident said home hit by car twice this year

A Butler County family who said their home was hit by a drunk driver for the second time this year is making a plea for people to stop drinking and driving.

Mark Murphy said twice in the last five months a car has run into their home.

"That's what he told the police... he went around and made a "U" straight into the house," he said.

According to the family, the weather has nothing to do with these accidents, and said in both cases the drivers had been drinking.

"The first time, the girl left... she was coming this way on Oxford State and she was drinking and driving and she went off the road and hit the corner of the house over here," Murphy said.

The first accident back in February happened in the early morning hours of  Murphy's wedding day, the most recent accident happened on Friday.

"Around here it's a problem with the drugs and the drinking and driving. The house over here has been hit twice for DUI's, and the house on the other side has been hit a few times too," Murphy said.

He said the home isn't safe to go inside after the truck plowed 10 feet inside his home.

"He actually took out the wall in the bedroom where my son's bed was," Murphy said. "Call a friend, don't drink and drive."
