CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

Fiona the hippo might have to start sharing the spotlight after the birth of three new ring-tailed lemurs in the past three days at the Cincinnati Zoo.

One of the younger lemurs, Izze, gave birth to a single pup on Friday and another lemur, Willow, had twins Monday night. With these new additions, the Zoo’s ring-tailed lemur population has doubled.

“Ring-tails are the flagship species for lemur, prosimian and Madagascar conservation awareness and these three little ones are the newest flagbearers,” said Ron Evans, Curator of Primates and Prosimian Taxon Advisory Group Steering Committee member.

Visitors can spot the whole family if they pay careful attention at the Lemur Lookout, including first time dad, Ivan.

These are the first ring-tailed lemur births at the Cincinnati Zoo in almost 30 years.
