Franklin Police asking for help naming new handprint cruiser

(Franklin Police Department) (Franklin Police Department)
FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) -

The Franklin Police Department is asking everyone, especially kids, to 'lend their hands' in naming a special police cruiser.

Chief Russ Whitman posted pictures of the cruiser on Facebook. It was covered in more than 130 kids handprints during their National Night Out.

Police said it’s a great way to show how connected they are to the community, and to help kids understand the officers are there to protect them.

You have until Friday to post your vote on their Facbook page.

Whitman said they'll then select a winner in the next couple of weeks.
