CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis returned to work Tuesday night after a minor health issue.
In a statement released Wednesday, Lewis thanks his doctors and nurses and announces he is back to work helping the team prepare for their game Friday.
Special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons assumed head coaching responsibilities after the head coach missed practice Tuesday.
He had been dealing with a leg issue that caused him to ride to and from practice on a cart at practice Monday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Lewis is set to coach the Bengals in their preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday night at Paul Brown Stadium.
