CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron looked like a deer in headlights when he was met with the news of his name in trade talks again on Wednesday.

"That's the first I've heard about it and I really don't know anything," McCarron told FOX19 NOW and other reporters. "So, I don't really have any comment on it."
104.3 The Fan in Denver first reported that that the Broncos were "aggressively pursuing a trade" for McCarron. That report has since been denied by several outlets including Broncos General Manager John Elway who called the report "fake news."
"I haven't gotten any texts (about it), " said McCarron. "My family does a good job of not paying attention to all the B.S. Unless my agent tells me, I don't pay any attention to it. That's what I pay him for."
McCarron did address the challenges of dealing with heavy trade talks since he nearly led the Bengals to their first playoff win in more than 25 years in January 2016.

"My brother does a good job of sending me texts every morning talking about blinders and just staying the zone," McCarron said of his brother Corey. "It helps me a lot mentally. He sent me one yesterday talking about…keep your head down and grind."
