Police in Reading said an 8-year-old boy was found wandering the streets by himself over a mile from his home.
When approached by police the child allegedly told them he was walking to his grandmother’s house because his mom was passed out drunk on the coach, the police report states.
The child was spotted by a passerby who called police on Aug. 7 around 7 p.m.
Police arrested Lina Boryczka. When they went to her home the report reads “she appeared to be heavily intoxicated.”
Police said they found her half naked on a bed in the family room, and she told them her child must of snuck out of the window.
The report states she was yelling profanities at the officers and began kicking and spitting while she was in the patrol car.
Hamilton County Job and Family Services said the child was removed and is now staying with a family member while they launch an investigation.
FOX19 NOW learned this is not the first time Boryczka’s child has wandered off.
Court records show in February of 2015, her then 5-year-old was located running towards the rail road tracks in Lockland.
Police said the child was found with no winter coat or shoes on. Court records state the child left while she was having an argument with her boyfriend.
The child told police he was locked out of the residence and could not get back in. The child was found two blocks away.
Police said Boryczka was found on the bathroom floor unconcious with her body wedging the door. The report stated she appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
Officers said they woke her up and informed her that they found her son and she reportedly said, “I don’t give a f---.”
Police said they also found marijuana in the house.
