NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Nearly half a dozen residents in Norwood woke up to paint poured all over their cars.

Sam Frost is still in disbelief that his car was targeted by vandals.

"It was just all over and we just peeled it off piece by piece," he said.

He was able to get most of the latex paint off. His gray Camaro was covered in brown paint. He believes it happened between 1 and 8 in the morning.

"I was disappointed you know that somebody would go to that level," Frost said.

He wasn't the only one to wake up to paint smeared all over his car. A total of four incidents were reported to Norwood police on Monday morning.

In the 4200 block Floral Ave., a white jeep was splashed with red paint. A few streets over in the 4000 block of Forest Ave. a woman found her windows covered in a purple paint.

"It just seems reckless and stupid," the woman said.

She didn't want her name released, but said that she is now worried about parking her car out on the street just in case the vandal strikes again.

"Before I owned the car that I have that I have now, my previous one was broken into just standing right out here so it does make me nervous," she said.

Frost is still not sure why certain cars were targeted in his neighborhood, or what point the vandal was trying to make.

"From what I heard they're newer cars, so maybe it's just a lash out for people who have nice things... I don't know," he said.

Frost is now planning to invest in a home surveillance system to protect his property.

The paint did come off of most of the cars vandalized.

Police found a paint can close to where one of the cars was vandalized and now they hoping that evidence will lead to the person responsible.

At this point, police do not have a description of the suspect but the investigation is ongoing.
