One man is dead following a boat crash on the Ohio River Saturday.

Crews pulled the body of the victim, identified by police as 52-year-old Ronnie Parker, from the water around 9 p.m.

A speedboat and pontoon collided near the William Harsha Bridge around 1:30 p.m.

Maysville Police Lt. Justin Horch called it one of the worst boat crashes he's witnessed in 22 years on the job.

Parker, of Felicity, Ohio, was thrown from the speedboat in what officials called a "secondary accident."

"The speedboat was stuck in a right-hand turn and then came over top of the pontoon boat, injuring one of their occupants," Horch said.

A medical helicopter transported one boater to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Two others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

"I saw the speedboat on top of the pontoon boat and they were locked together," Horch said. "We then towed them over to the Ohio side and we’re working on getting those apart."

Several other police and fire agencies assisted Maysville in the investigation.

The William Harsha Bridge connects Maysville, Kentucky to Aberdeen, Ohio.
