CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

On the Brent Spence Bridge this week there's good news and bad news.

Bad news first: Northbound Interstate-71/75 will be reduced to one lane across the bridge on 9 p.m. Thursday.

Good news: The closures will allow crews to complete the summer-long roadwork project.

The traffic nightmare on the Brent Spence Bridge should be easing up on Friday.

Over the summer, the bridge has gone through months of lane closures and road work — making traffic conditions on an already congested bridge even worse.

Traffic on all four northbound lanes will resume no later than 5 a.m. Friday, according to officials.

Also this week, crews will begin restoring access ramps that were closed as part of the Brent Spence Bridge maintenance project.

The ramps will open according to the following schedule:

Thursday  by 5 a.m.:

·         I-71/US 50 ramp to I-71/75 South (via Fort Washington Way)

·         3rd Street ramp in Cincinnati to I-71/75 South

·         I-71/75 South to Erlanger/KY 236 Exits 184, 184A, and 184B
Friday by 5 a.m.:

4th Street ramp in Covington to I-71/75 North
