CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Two men are under arrest and scheduled to face a judge on aggravated arson charges after a small fire broke out at a Downtown high-rise building under construction overnight, Cincinnati fire officials said.

Duncan Ray and Ryan Barnes, both 20, were booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, jail officials said.

They are accused of purposely setting fires Downtown, including at a 17-story mixed-use building under construction on Sycamore Street and another building on Court Street, fire officials said and court records show.

A Cincinnati fire investigator took them into custody based on video surveillance at multiple locations, said District 1 Fire Chief Louis Arnold.

No one was hurt when flames broke out just after midnight at the Sycamore Street building, which will hold residences and businesses when it's complete.

Firefighters responding to a water flow alarm at that location found water leaking from a water heater on the fourth floor, he said.

At that that point, there was no evidence of fire.

A short time later, however, he said they found evidence of vandalism and a small fire on the fourth floor and two additional small fires on the fifth and sixth floors.

All fires were quickly brought under control, but fire crews remained on scene the next two hours clearing smoke from the building.

Damage was set at $25,000.

The case remains under investigation and fire officials are still collecting evidence at the scene.
