BLINK organizers held a news conference Wednesday to release about the nation's largest light & art event.

It's set for October 12-15, from 7 p.m. - 12 a.m. each night.

The event will feature large-scale projection mapping installations (similar to Lumenocity), murals, urban artscapes, media light and interactive art.

BLINK will span 20 city blocks, from Cincinnati's Banks to Findlay Market.

The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Organizers expect 500,000 visitors in the event's first year.

More than 2,000 people will illuminate themselves for a parade, which will be the official kickoff to the event.

That's set for 7 p.m. Thursday, October 12, on Vine Street from Findlay Market to Washington Park.

Bootsy Collins and his wife will be the grand marshals.
