Deters Condemns Violence

A Hamilton County grand jury has indicted two teenage males on charges that could lead to their execution.

George Williams of Avondale has been indicted for the murder of cab driver, Timothy Deger, on the night of July 19th. If convicted Williams, 19, could be subject to death by lethal injection.

In a separate incident, Matthew Carrovillano has been indicted for the rape of a child under the age of 13, child endangerment and two counts of aggravated murder for the rape and murder of a 18 month old. Carrovillano, 19, could be sentenced to death if convicted for aggravated murder.

Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters expressed his concern over the rising wave of violence caused by young people in Hamilton County.

"It is obvious to everyone that violent crime is out of control in our community," Deters said. "When I was elected, I promised to seek the maximum penalty for those involved in such offenses. I have done so in these cases."
