CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Bengals Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert will undergo season-ending back surgery Thursday in Los Angeles.
Eifert hasn't played since week two against the Texans and hasn't seen the practice field or been seen much around Paul Brown Stadium since then.
This will be the third back surgery of his career.
This is the final season of Eifert's contract in Cincinnati. He will have missed 49 percent of possible games played since being drafted. In other words, 39 of a possible 80 games played.
He has just four receptions for 46 yards this season.
Tyler Kroft, in his place, has 14 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
