CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

Police arrested a former Clark Montessori High School cheerleading coach on several theft charges last week.

According to court documents, Tyeishia Bailey took $1,700 in payments for cheerleading uniforms and equipment. But the items were never provided and the parents were never refunded.

Deloris Pennington says her daughter used some of her own money from a summer job to pay Bailey her cheerleading fees. She questioned the coach about the ordered items, but says Bailey gave her the runaround.

“Going forward if we pay into anything related to school that, we will need to know that there are two people involve in the process," Pennington said.

A Cincinnati Public Schools spokesperson said the school discovered the problem and asked for her to return the cash.

"It's really unfortunate because you know as a coach, you know the students personally. So, she knew these students who she accepted the money from personally and still made the wrong decision with the money,” said CPS’s Lauren Worley.
