Expect periodic lane closures on Brent Spence throughout November

A highway safety project is scheduled to begin soon on I-75 northbound.

Several roadway signs will be installed on all the entrance and exit ramps along the I-75 corridor in Kenton County. Motorist should be aware of crews and possible lane closures.

Though the 24/7 multi-lane closures on the Brent Spence Bridge have ended, maintenance work will continue through mid-November. Periodic lane closures will be necessary throughout November to complete work on the bridge.

Weather permitting, the following traffic impacts will take place this week as routine maintenance work continues on the Brent Spence Bridge:

  • 5th Street Exit ramp from I-71/75 Southbound in Covington will be closed overnight Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. The exit ramp will reopen no later than 5 a.m. Friday morning.
  • Northbound lane closures are scheduled this weekend. Beginning Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. Crews will close lanes on the lower deck of the Brent Spence Bridge as part of continued routine maintenance work.
  • One lane will be closed initially, however after midnight and through Sunday, it is possible that up to three lanes will be closed and northbound travel will be limited to one lane. All lanes will be reopened for travel by 5 a.m. Monday morning.

In addition, temporary single-lane closures may periodically occur on streets under the bridge during daytime hours while crews work overhead.

Information about upcoming lane closures will be posted on BrentSpence2017.org
