DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A Metro bus struck and injured a woman, trapping her under a tire near Fountain Square late Thursday, Cincinnati police said.
Sally Gaynor, 54, was in the crosswalk crossing Main Street on the north side of the intersection at Fifth Street when a Metro bus turned off Fifth Street onto Main Street, Cincinnati police said in a written statement.
The bus hit Gaynor, knocking her to the ground and trapping her leg under a front tire, they said.
First responders used airbags to lift the bus off of her.
She was freed after about 20 minutes and taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
She is listed in serious but stable condition, according to police.
