CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Bengals reportedly tried to trade quarterback A.J. McCarron to Cleveland Browns, but failed to finalize the deal before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, according to ESPN.
McCarron is the Bengals back-up quarterback to Andy Dalton and is considered their best trade commodity. It is unclear what the Bengals would have received in return but the teams reportedly did not get the deal done before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
McCarron has played sparingly in four season with the Bengals, filling in as the starting quarterback when Andy Dalton broke his thumb late in the 2015 season.
The Bengals did not execute any trades before Tuesday's deadline.
