CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey finally met with the media in Jacksonville on Wednesday and refuted reports that he took verbal shots at A.J. Green's family on Sunday, but did admit he had some choice words for the Bengals pro bowl wide receiver.
"I told him almost every play that he was weak, that he was soft," Ramsey said. "He just can't handle the truth. It's facts. I told him it was easy, which it was. He had one catch for 6 yards."
FOX19 NOW raw game footage shows Ramsey and Green going back and forth in one exchange where both players called each other "weak."
Green said on Sunday, after both were ejected in the second quarter, that Ramsey's cheap shot lead to him throwing punches in the final seconds of the half. He also said Ramsey was talking trash after each play.
"If I knew I was going to get kicked out, I would have got active," Ramsey said. "It's cool. Now I know what to do in that situation. If I'm ever in that situation again, best believe I'm going to get active out there."
Green is still waiting to hear from the NFL on how much he will be fined for fighting. One of Green's closest teammates told FOX19 NOW that his actions can only fire up the team going forward.
"He didn't need to apologize for anything he did," said veteran wide receiver Brandon LaFell. "When you see a guy like (A.J. Green) get fired up, it makes you want to go out there and play harder and play for him."
