HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - It's the kind of love you see in the movies, except this couple exists in real life.
Gary and Valerie Leinig know all about commitment and compromise after being married for 33 years, and it's clear they know a lot about dedication too.
At 69-years-old, Gary walks to work at McDonald's in Hamilton nearly every day with his personal squeegee and bucket often by his side. Wind, rain or shine, the humble Korean and Vietnam War veteran is the restaurant's go-to outdoor handyman.
"Take care of the garbage and keep the lot clean, as good as I can," Gary said.
The couple's income is small, but their hearts are big. They live in a one-room apartment and still cut their check for charity.
"I couldn't live without trying to support something," Gary said. "That's just part of my nature."
What's left goes towards food, bills and their burial plots - ones they hand-selected right next to each other.
"We're paying on it now," Valerie said.
Gary said he has no current plans of retiring from his position at McDonald's because he enjoys his job and wants to continue to provide for his wife.
