MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - Small business owner and former marine Mike Garber, along with volunteers, will feed breakfast to veterans and their families at his office in Montgomery.

Garber just opened up his insurance business on Aug. 1.   Before that he was working to get his degree at Xavier University with help from the GI, which provides educational assistance to service members, veterans and their families.

When Garber found out only 30 percent of those who serve actually use the GI bill, he wanted to change those numbers.

When he opened his insurance business, he decided to hire veterans and give them the flexibility to work and go to school.

Ryan Wagers works full time at the office and goes to nursing school at night.   Zach Michel is still in the Army Reserves and is taking classes at UC. Michel will probably be deployed after the first of the year.

As for Garber, he served 8 years in the Marines and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Saturday, November 11, Garber and other volunteers will be serving veterans and their families a free breakfast.  He says, "Chow hall is from 9 to noon."

Here's the address to his office: 10792 Montgomery Road in Montgomery, near Eddie Merlots.
