NASA decides against spacewalk to repair thermal blanket.
Discovery's astronauts can stay put. NASA has told the shuttle crew it won't have to conduct the fourth spacewalk of this mission. The agency had been considering another spacewalk to fix a torn thermal blanket near the cockpit window. The fear had been that the piece could rip away during re-entry and slam into the shuttle. But Mission Control has told the crew Discovery will be safe for re-entry Monday without fixing the tear.
Thursday, the astronauts paid tribute to the Columbia crew and others who died trying to explore space.
