SUV deals instant karma to casino purse snatcher

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A man was arrested and charged after stealing a purse from a woman at JACK Casino on Oct. 5.

In an arrest report, the Cincinnati Police Department said 21-year-old Taariq Smith waited for the crowd to this around his 55-year-old victim in the parking garage. Once the crowd cleared, Smith grabbed the victims purse and attempted to run away with her belongings.

The victim refused to let go and was dragged down four flight of concrete stairs before Smith was able to dislodge her from her purse.

On the same night. police were called to the scene of Spring Street and Reading Road where they told dispatchers a man had been struck by a black SUV. The officer later reported the man was Smith, and said he was struck while trying to flee from the casino. 

The condition of the female victim in this case is unknown at this time.

Smith is scheduled to be in Hamilton County Court on Thursday morning and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
